This is the webpage for the Accessibility in Austerity workshop at BCS HCI 2025
Accessibility research and the lives of disabled people are under pressure from funding cuts and shifting political priorities. As public spending tightens and big tech turns its focus to AI, there are growing challenges for researchers and advocates in this space. This workshop brings together researchers, students, and practitioners to discuss how we can respond to these constraints. Together, we’ll explore practical ways to adapt, resist, and build a strong, impact-driven community for accessibility research in the UK.
